遺失してしまった映画でも写真が残っているものがあって、そのうちの一枚では芝生に花の散りばめられた丘で、銀色の日差しを浴びながら少女が踊っている。同じ色調の異なった模様でパターン化されたドレスは、ハーメルンの魔法の笛にあわせて踊る時に牧草地の色味と調和を見せている。この服装に身を包まれたリダ・サルモノヴァは、ベルリン・ドイツ劇場に登場してきたオフェリアたち、ジュリエットたちにも似ている。

『呪われた銀幕』ロッテ・アイスナー

Lyda Salmonova in Der Rattenfänger von Hameln (1918) — 『ハーメルンの笛吹き男』（Der Rattenfänger von Hameln, 1919）でのヴェゲナー／サルモノヴァ

Among the surviving images from these lost films there is one of a girl dancing in the silvery sunlight on a grassy flower-spangled hill. Her dress, patterned in different shades of the same tone, harmonizes with the tints in the meadow, as she dances to the magic pipe of Hameln. The young Lyda Salmonova under the spell of the music bears a resemblance in this costume to the Ophelias and Juliets of the Deutsches Theater.

The Haunted Screen, Lotte Eisner (1952)

マックス・ラインハルト門下生として舞台劇の修業を積み、初期ドイツ映画の重要作（『プラーグの大学生』『巨人ゴーレム』）のヒロインとして映画史に名を残したチェコ出身女優。アイスナーが言及していた『ハーメルン』を含め、実生活での夫でもあったパウル・ヴェゲナーとの共作を多く残しました。
